The Statistics Don’t Lie

If you are suffering from stress, anxiety or depression you are not alone. Research shows that as a global population we are experiencing epidemic levels of these negative influences on our lives. Influences that rob us from living optimally with a sense of well being. Instead for many day to day life seems a battle, for some a mild one and others severe.

And it does not discriminate. From the young to to the elderly, the successful to those struggling, Elite performers (in all fields) to the homeless.

Very Helpful With My Depression

"I would like to thank you for your help with the Vedic Meditation Course, I have tried to teach myself a couple of different Meditation practices in the past and found it very difficult, however, I found doing your Course and the follow-up meetings to be very helpful with my depression. I also find the group Meditations to be helpful in fine-tuning my practices. Meditation is now something I look forward to each day, thanks again."

The Silent Thieves In The Night – Stress, Anxiety & Depression

If you are suffering from stress, anxiety or depression you are not alone. Research shows that as a global population we are experiencing epidemic levels of these negative influences on our lives. Influences that rob us from living optimally with a sense of well being. Instead for many day to day life seems a battle, for some a mild one and others severe.

And it does not discriminate. From the young to to the elderly, the successful to those struggling, Elite performers (in all fields) to the homeless.

The pressures and demands of life are never going away, so we need to find a better way to not only cope with these but essentially not be so effected by the stresses.

The reason Vedic Meditation works so well for our wellbeing is it is so easy to do. As we are not trying to “force or concentrate” the mind into something it does not want to do. Instead we are using a mantra (selected to suit your life’s situation) and a specific technique for using it.

These method has a very soothing effect on the nervous system. So it is like the exact opposite of stress, anxiety and depression.

We practice this method twice a day for 20 minutes and the results are amazing.

Science shows us that these short meditations are 2 to 5 times greater than that of sleep. So our nervous system goes into a deep deep state of rest and repair.

It is due to this deep state of rest achieved that this form of meditation has been found to be twice as effective as other forms of relaxation or meditation when it comes to reducing symptoms of anxiety and also a reduction of cortisol by 33% (the stress hormone)

The results are consistent and profound. Blood plasma lactate levels, which are always elevated in people with anxiety and which are considered the classic marker for it, fall by a hugely significant average of 33%.

Tests using Galvanic Skin Resistance (GSR) to measure how relaxed someone is, have shown that, during Vedic meditation, the GSR levels increase by between 250% and 500%. This is more than double what we experience during sleep.

This technique has also been shown to deliver a 42% reduction in sleep disorders, as well as improved quality of sleep.

Studies have also shown that after eight weeks of practise, participants demonstrated a 40-55% reduction in symptoms of PTSD and depression.

Research has also revealed a 38-45% improvement in mood scores.

Meditation has been shown to have the following benefits:

  • Decision making is easier
  • Less preoccupied
  • More energy
  • Better sleep
  • Emotional Stability
  • Increased Self Awareness
  • Better Memory
  • Clarity
  • Increase of happy hormones
Haven't Felt This Un-Anxious since I can't Remember

"Mostly floating at top of the deep water but must be venturing downwards away from the "chatter" enough during each session because I feel a tangible difference in my contentment. Very calming feeling. Haven't felt this un-anxious since I cant remember."

Vedic Meditation -
The Difference
With VM we bypass the common forms of meditation (concentrating or contemplating) and we introduce to the mind a phonetic Mantra (translation is Mannas - Mind, Tra - Vehicle so it is a vehicle of the mind).

The Vedic Meditation mantras are called Bija Mantras (seed mantras). These mantras have no implied meaning, they are just a phonetic sound. This helps with the meditation process as the mantras meant something, our mind would get involved.
And in case you're wondering, we also do not concentrate on the mantras.

The unique technique you will learn has been shown to activate both hemispheres of the brain, which enhances what is known as brain coherence.

Most people that experience this technique find it effortless and easy. Which in turn makes it an easier practice to do and derive the many benefits from. As if it is hard to do, most of us will not do it.

Where is it from?

The Vedic Meditation technique has a lineage dating back to over 5,000 years in ancient India.

It is indicated that VM was originally utilised by householders - people like you and I - so not living in ashrams. That is why the technique is so powerful for modern day life as it is a practice for the busy person as a lot of other mind based techniques are derived from more monastic practices.
