Got a question for you, can you imagine trying to run the latest games, apps and software on some of the earliest computers?

What do you reckon would happen?

Yep, not much, the machine would be overworked to even load the app/game etc and probably get sent to the cyberspace graveyard in no time.

And guess what, want to know why so many of us are overwhelmed, anxious, stressed or depressed?

Well, we are basically the example above.

You see we process more information in 1 day that our ancestors just 250 years ago did in a whole year.

Think about that for a moment.

We are using the same processors for thousands of years, and it has been doing a wonderful job but now, well’ we’re smashed.

This has basically activated most of us to live in a perpetual state of stress. In fight or flight. And this has horrible consequences to our body, hence why stress is the number 1 killer on the planet. In fact, it is indicated that 90% of all disease is either caused or complicated from stress. Heavy.

It’s like when your phone’s not functioning like it used to and the battery, needs a backup battery just to keep it running. Then you realise you have 30 apps open. No wonder it is killing the performance.

The great thing is meditation is like a bio hack to upgrade our nervous system.

Or more importantly it helps us to defrag the constant state of stress that we are living in. Meditation has been shown to drop us into a state of rest 2-5 times greater than that of sleep, thanks to our metabolic rate dropping by 24% in meditation whereas in sleep it only drops y 8% (Dr Robert Wallace 1972).

This rest is exactly what our nervous system requires to stop the fight or flight damage and help us to restore our body to a state of homeostasis (balance and repair) so we can perform at a far higher level in life.

And prevent the damaging effects of stress.

It is a no brainer.

There are just so many reasons to meditate. And the great thing is science is catching up to what the ancient Vedic Meditation masters have known for thousands of years. That meditation works…
